A small, deliberate company — built around the idea that workforce services should feel like hospitality.
HQ Simple was founded in 2023 to provide personalized, efficient workforce solutions that prioritize the service side over technology and self-service. Technology is a tool, not a replacement.
Senior leaders who stay in the room.
HQ Simple is hundreds of people: account directors, payroll specialists, compliance leads, country experts. Benjamin (founder) and Kimberly (head of operations) are personally involved in every client relationship: from the first call through escalations, audits, and renewals. You will speak to them.
Benjamin Jack
Twenty years building the compliance-driven workforce programs that big tech and biotech actually rely on.
Benjamin started in contingent workforce in 2006, 17 years before HQ Simple existed. He has built and operated EOR and contingent programs onboarding 10,000+ workers a year, across 30+ countries, for companies that cannot afford a misclassification headline. He founded HQ Simple to do the work the way it should have been done all along: a senior operator on the phone, a single contract, and a name on every escalation.
- Built and operated programs onboarding 10,000+ workers annually
- Scaled employment infrastructure across 30+ countries
- Personally involved in every HQ Simple client engagement, from first call through audits and renewals
- Focus: making employment infrastructure simple for the founders and operators who buy it
Kimberly Steffen
Fifteen years running the workforce operations behind teams you've heard of, turning compliance complexity into something that actually shows up on time.
Kimberly led workforce operations supporting teams at Twitter and PRO Unlimited (Meta, Pinterest, and others) before joining HQ Simple. She owns execution across onboarding, payroll, compliance review, and client delivery, and is the person clients call when something needs to be fixed today, not next quarter. Her bench: hundreds of account directors, payroll specialists, and compliance leads, all named, all reachable.
- Led workforce operations supporting teams at Twitter and PRO Unlimited
- Drives execution across onboarding, compliance, and client delivery
- Builds and manages HQ Simple's senior operator bench across geographies
- Focus: making sure every client gets a reliable employment experience, with the same person picking up the phone each time
20 years of doing one thing well.
Two decades operating contingent programs at scale. We took the parts that worked and left the layers that didn't. The line between "customer" and "friend" is thin around here, on purpose.
Benjamin Jack starts working in contingent workforce
17 years before HQ Simple, our founder is already solving the same problems for big tech and biotech.
HQ Simple is founded
Benjamin and Kimberly launch HQ Simple to do contingent workforce service-first, on purpose. The promise from day one: a senior operator picks up.
Four-day workweek goes permanent
We commit the whole company to Mon–Thu. Customer satisfaction goes up.
ENGAGE platform launches
Quietly. To a small group of customers, by invitation only. The software exists to make the service better, not the other way around.
4 direct markets. 75 specialist partners.
Live as the legal employer of record in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Australia, plus named-specialist partners in 75 more countries. Every new customer arrives by referral or returns from an earlier program. A senior operator still picks up the phone every weekday.
Four days each.
Five days of coverage.
It's not a perk, it's a strategy. Most of the team works Mon–Thu; a rotating crew covers Friday so the week is never dark when you need us. Rested people solve harder problems, and your work doesn't sit on an empty inbox.
Where to find us.
Email, phone, or schedule a call.
Book a call. Talk to a person. Decide nothing today.
Your first conversation, and every one after, is with a knowledgeable expert. Not a screener, not a tech demo, not a discovery rep reading from a script. We'll tell you whether we're the right fit, and who to go to if we're not.
