Canada Employer of Record.
Priced honestly.

Direct entity in Canada. One flat markup on wages, or cost-plus for larger programs, depending on how many people you are hiring and for how long. The two calculators below show what you'd actually pay versus a SaaS EOR.

Two pricing options

Pick the model. The country rate is set.

One rate · every province & territory, Quebec quoted separately

One markup rate on wages, the same in every province except Quebec. Quebec runs about 4 points higher on every rate, and French-language employment documents are included, so we quote it separately.

Flat markup
One rate on wages. Nothing on top.
Canada rate
21% markup on wages
18% on a 3-year contract
CPP, EI, provincial levies and workers' compensation sit inside the markup, plus a 4% vacation pay premium each pay period. Your people are salaried, so taking time off doesn't change your invoice. Anything accrued and unpaid is paid out at the end of the assignment. Same rate in every province; Quebec is quoted on its own.

Statutory at cost. Effective rate drops as wages scale.
Every employer statutory cost, including CPP and QPP, EI and QPIP, provincial payroll taxes, workers' compensation, passes through at our actual cost with no markup. HQ Simple's only fee is CA$2.50–4.50/hr per worker, depending on program scale. Best for higher-wage roles and longer assignments, where the rate drops once workers pass the annual EI and CPP ceilings.

Two calculators

Two ways to see what you're really paying in Canada.

First, we expose the effective markup rateon a SaaS EOR after platform fees and add-ons. Then, we show what you'd pay on our cost-plus model for the same program, in Canada.

Calculator 1 · vs. SaaS EORs

What's your effective markup with Deel, Rippling or Remote?

SaaS EORs quote you a 15% markup on payroll and a ~CA$749/month per-worker platform fee, then add a setup fee per worker on day one and an offboarding fee per worker on the way out. In Canada they typically run through a local partner, who adds their own profit and G&A on top, so you're paying two margins instead of one. Your effectivemarkup ends up well above the headline. Set just three things (workers, pay rate, assignment length) and we'll show what you're actually paying versus HQ Simple's flat published markup (18% on a 3-year term, everything included).

31.5%
You signed up for 15% on payroll. Most SaaS EORs deliver through a local partner in Canada, even where they hold an entity there, and that partner adds 5% profit / G&A. After that, platform fees, and add-ons, you're actually paying 31.5% of wages, a 16.5-point hidden uplift.

Illustrative. Defaults reflect mid-points from public SaaS EOR price lists. SaaS EORs bill in whole months; a 4-week assignment counts as one month of platform fee. Setup and offboarding are billed per worker but rarely quoted up front.
Calculator 2 · cost-plus alternative

Cost-plus pricing: ~11% statutory at cost + CA$2.50–4.50/hr.

On higher-wage roles and larger programs, cost-plus usually comes in under both our flat markup and the big providers' 20% plus a monthly admin fee. Our admin is a fixed amount per hour, so the higher the wage, the less it costs as a percentage. You see exactly what we charge: statutory employer costs at our actual cost, roughly 11% of wages, plus CA$2.50–4.50/hr per worker, depending on program scale. No platform fee, no FX skim, no add-on SKUs. Move the sliders to see where you land.

The honest FAQ

Questions other EORs avoid.

We'll answer these on a call too, but here's the short version.

In Canada, simple markup on wages is a single percentage on payroll quoted ahead of time: 21% on wages, with every statutory cost included. Cost-plus passes employer statutory costs through at our actual cost (effective rate ~11% on average, varies by wage and worker mix) plus CA$2.50–4.50/hour per worker as our only fee. Simple markup is easiest for budgeting on smaller programs; cost-plus usually wins on higher-wage roles and longer assignments. We will model both against your actual numbers on a call.
