UK Employer of Record.
Priced honestly.

Direct entity in the United Kingdom. One flat markup on wages, or cost-plus for larger programs, depending on how many people you are hiring and for how long. The two calculators below show what you'd actually pay versus a SaaS EOR.

Two pricing options

Pick the model. The country rate is set.

One rate · England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland

One markup rate on wages, the same UK-wide. Northern Ireland's employment law differs in places; we handle that.

Flat markup
One rate on wages. Nothing on top.
UK rate
35% markup on wages
33% on a 3-year contract
Employer NI, auto-enrolment pension and the apprenticeship levy sit inside the markup. Your people are salaried, so holiday and bank holidays don't change your invoice. Accrued untaken holiday is paid out at the end of the assignment. Same rate across all four nations.
How billing works
  • ·One markup rate on wages, every month
  • ·Leave doesn't move your invoice; payout at assignment end
  • ·No platform fee, no per-seat charges

UK rate
~20% + £3–4/hr
Statutory at cost, with no markup at any wage level.
Every employer statutory cost, including employer NI, auto-enrolment pension, the apprenticeship levy, passes through at our actual cost with no markup. HQ Simple's only fee is £3–4/hr per worker, depending on program scale. Suits higher-wage roles and longer assignments. Employer NI has no upper limit here, so the saving comes from paying statutory costs at our cost, not inside someone else's margin.

Two calculators

Two ways to see what you're really paying in the United Kingdom.

First, we expose the effective markup rateon a SaaS EOR after platform fees and add-ons. Then, we show what you'd pay on our cost-plus model for the same program, in the United Kingdom.

Calculator 1 · vs. SaaS EORs

What's your effective markup with Deel, Rippling or Remote?

SaaS EORs quote you a 28% markup on payroll and a ~£629/month per-worker platform fee, then add a setup fee per worker on day one and an offboarding fee per worker on the way out. In the U.K. they typically run through a local partner, who adds their own profit and G&A on top, so you're paying two margins instead of one. Your effectivemarkup ends up well above the headline. Set just three things (workers, pay rate, assignment length) and we'll show what you're actually paying versus HQ Simple's flat published markup (33% on a 3-year term, everything included).

Effective markup with a SaaS EOR
45.3%
You signed up for 28% on payroll. Most SaaS EORs deliver through a local partner in the U.K., even where they hold an entity there, and that partner adds 5% profit / G&A. After that, platform fees, and add-ons, you're actually paying 45.3% of wages, a 17.3-point hidden uplift.

Illustrative. Defaults reflect mid-points from public SaaS EOR price lists. SaaS EORs bill in whole months; a 4-week assignment counts as one month of platform fee. Setup and offboarding are billed per worker but rarely quoted up front.
Calculator 2 · cost-plus alternative

Cost-plus pricing: ~20% statutory at cost + £3–4/hr.

On higher-wage roles and larger programs, cost-plus usually comes in under both our flat markup and the big providers' 33% plus a monthly admin fee. Our admin is a fixed amount per hour, so the higher the wage, the less it costs as a percentage. You see exactly what we charge: statutory employer costs at our actual cost, roughly 20% of wages, plus £3–4/hr per worker, depending on program scale. No platform fee, no FX skim, no add-on SKUs. Move the sliders to see where you land.

The honest FAQ

Questions other EORs avoid.

We'll answer these on a call too, but here's the short version.

In the UK, simple markup on wages is a single percentage on payroll quoted ahead of time: 35% on wages, with every statutory cost included. Cost-plus passes employer statutory costs through at our actual cost (effective rate ~20% on average, varies by wage and worker mix) plus £3–4/hour per worker as our only fee. Simple markup is easiest for budgeting on smaller programs; cost-plus usually wins on higher-wage roles and longer assignments. We will model both against your actual numbers on a call.
