Ireland Digital Nomad Visa
Ireland doesn't yet offer a formal digital nomad visa. Most short stays use the standard 90-day visitor allowance; longer remote arrangements run through Stamp 0 or work-permit pathways and benefit from local advice. We help structure the right route.
Best for
- Short residencies tied to family or specific projects
- Non-EU nationals with Irish business ties
- Visitors who can demonstrate self-sufficient remote income
Eligibility
- Valid passport for the full intended stay
- Proof of self-supporting income or savings
- Clean immigration record
- Comprehensive private health insurance
- Demonstrated ties to home country (return intent)
Application steps
- Confirm whether visitor entry, Stamp 0, or work permit fits your stay
- If a Stamp 0 application: submit through the Department of Justice with sponsor or self-sufficient documentation
- Register with Immigration Service Delivery within 90 days of arrival
- Renew or transition before expiry
Tax considerations
Ireland uses a 183-day-in-the-year + 280-days-over-2-years residency test. Crossing it makes you Irish tax resident on worldwide income, with treaty relief possible. Short stays under 90 days generally don't trigger residency.
This is general information and not tax advice. Confirm with a tax advisor licensed in your home country and Ireland before triggering residency.
Need EOR in Ireland?
Ireland is one of the easier Western European jurisdictions. No 13th month, statutory redundancy only kicks in after 2 years' service, and at-will-style termination with notice is workable. Default to the DNV unless the role triggers a mandatory pension auto-enrolment edge case or sector-specific Employment Regulation Order.
HQ Simple services Ireland EOR through our vetted partner network. Direct EOR sits with the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia.
